After The VisREU Experience . . .

Michael Bosch (2014 VisREU) Has been accepted into graduate school at Georgia Tech and has been offered a TA and RA Position. Last update: 2/8/2016

Cameron Collins (2014 VisREU). Graduated from Coastal Carolina University, accepted and started M.S. program in Computer Science at Clemson University starting Spring 2016.Last update: 01/03/16

Kenneth Curtis (2014 VisREU). Graduated from UAB, accepted and started a Software Consultant position with CallidusCloud.

Since joining CallidusCloud, Kenneth has integrated 2 outside software applications with one of CallidusCloud's applications via RESTful API, created a web scrapper to pull data from a website, regularly used by CallidusCloud, and is currently assigned to 7 different client projects. Last November (2015) Kenneth got engaged, will be getting married June 3rd 2017. Last update: 05/18/16

Frank Elavsky (2015 VisREU). Frank recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems and a Bachelor of Arts in Theology and Philosophy, Magna Cum Laude (in both degrees) on May 7, 2016. Frank has accepted a job in the San Francisco Bay Area where he will be doing data science, analysis, and visualization and developing solutions to precise research investigations. After the 2015 VisREU Experience, Frank secured a well-paid contract to do institutional research and reporting which benefits greatly from his participation in the 2015 VisREU Site: data extraction, data transformation, and information visualization, specifically.

Joseph James (2015 VisREU). Joseph James: is participating in an REU at Clemson University; will construct a virtual environment meant to enhance the vividness of a proposed sustainable infrastructure project of their choosing (guided by the PI). Last update: 05/17/2016

Kathleen Kyle (2015 VisREU). Completed her Honors Thesis at FSU. Her project was titled: Developing a Genome Browser for a Non-model Vertebrate, Poecilia reticulata. Katie developed the first genome browser for the guppy using the UCSC genome browser platform, successfully defended her thesis and is preparing to publish her results. After successfufllying defending her Honors Thesis she graduated "with Honors" as an "Honors Finisher" having completed the requirements for the Honors Program. Katie graduated Cum Laude on Friday, April 29, 2016 from Florida State University. During a year off from school she has accepted a full time position in the Center for Genomic and Personalized Medicine at Florida State University. Last update: 04/23/2016

Amari Lewis (2015 VisREU). Graduated, Friday May 13th, Magna Cum Laude from Winston-Salem State University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a math/french minor. This summer she will be participating in the "Competitive Edge" graduate research program at the University of California Irvine and will be attending UC Irvine in the fall for graduate school.
