First Hatch: 4/1/2011
Second Hatch: 4/3/2011
Third Hatch: 4/6/2011 Video
A streaming video feed from a webcam mounted inside an eagle's nest in northeast Iowa last week captured the hatching of
three bald eagle chicks. The so-called "eagle cam," which was set up in a cottonwood tree last year by the nonprofit
Raptor Resource Project, zoomed in close as the third egg started to crack
at about 5:30 p.m. on April 6, and viewers watched online as the eaglet emerged over the next two hours, five days after the
other eggs hatched. The nonprofit group - which works to preserve populations of falcons, eagles, ospreys, hawks, and owls - says
it will try to track one of the chicks after it leaves the nest. (Taken from Green Eco Path)
