About Me

Mustafa A. Abdallah (PhD, Year 5) received the B.Sc. degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering (Distinction with honors) in 2012 and the M.Sc. degree in Engineering Mathematics in 2016, from Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University. He is currently a PhD candidate and a Research Fellow in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN.

Mustafa has been working as an RA in Dependable Computing Systems Laboratory (DCSL) lab since August 2017 under the supervision of Prof. Saurabh Bagchi and Prof. Shreyas Sundaram. His research interests include game theory, with applications to security of Cyber Physical Systems, Machine learning, and Network economics. In addition, he has an experience in Deep learning, with applications to Speech recognition; NLP; and optimization algorithms for large-scale optimization problems.

Mustafa was a data science research intern at Adobe Research during the summer of 2021 where he developed an automated way for time-series model selection to reduce cloud costs. During summer 2020, he has worked as data and operations research scientist at Principal Financial Group where he developed Kalman filter model to predict financial status of the companies for enhanced asset allocation.

Abdallah was the recipient of the Purdue Bilsland Dissertation Fellowship, the Best Fresher Award of DCSL lab in 2017 for gaming all the way to security. Abdallah also have received several travel awards to present his papers in IEEE conferences, including ACC 2019 and CDC 2021. He has also teaching experience is in Mathematics, I taught Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Probability.
