Fall Semester 2016
Old Problem sets, exams, and quizzes
These old exams and quizzes are most useful for testing your learning. They are not useful for studying, however, because questions are never used a second time.
Notice
These should be used with caution for several reasons:
- They may have been written by a different instructor, and each instructor has their own teaching style and philosophy.
- The instructor's style of teaching or assessment may have changed.
- A different text book may have been used in past years altering emphasis and treament of subjects. Old texts may have contained errors.
- The order of coverage of material may have changed from the current order.
- The style of exam or quiz questions may have changed over the years.
- The number of questions and their point value may have changed over the years.
- The emphasis on certain material may have changed.
- New material may have been covered this year.
- Material covered previously may no longer be covered, or its coverage depth may have changed, or its treatment may have shifted from qualitative to quantitative, or vice versa.
- Some of the terminology and concepts that are taught may have changed due to new discoveries.
- Occasionally errors invaribly occur on exams (and some quizzes) and are noted during the exam or quiz, but the files often are not changed to correct the errors.
