About the Association for Women in Communications
The Association for Women in Communications (AWC) is a professional organization that champions the advancement of women across all communication disciplines by recognizing excellence, promoting leadership and positioning its members at the forefront of the evolving communication era.
The Purdue Chapter of AWC offers a welcoming place for students to connect, grow and succeed. We are one of the nation’s oldest professional communications organizations. Anyone interested in the studying or pursuing a career in the field of communication is encouraged to join AWC! We are a diverse organization that serves the broad spectrum of the communication industry including advertising, public relations, marketing, graphic design, film, print and broadcast journalism, organizational communication, human resources, among others.
As a member of AWC you’ll have access to networking opportunities, scholarships, internship and job postings, and have the chance to build and strengthen your resume and portfolio with hands on experience at chapter meetings, special events, fundraisers and philanthropies. Furthermore, you’ll build meaningful, long lasting relationships with other members and professionals, who share common interests and goals.
