Introductory class to artistic practices on the computer. Students will
work with digital still images, sounds, stop-frame animation and HTML-based
websites and learn how to connect simple sensors to the computer to control
digital images and sounds interactively.

Introductory class dedicated to the artistic potential of digital video.
The class consists of technical workshops, creative assignment work and the
research, screening, analysis and discussion of existing works related to the field.

Based on the motto "more is more" students will develop 10 works
in electronic, digital or time-based media over the course of one semester.
It is an opportunity for students to critique work in the process of its
creation, develop strong conceptual ties between seemingly unrelated project
sketches and/or experiment with one idea in different media.

Experimental class in electronics and computer vision for artists. Students
learn to create expressive audiovisual systems that can respond to events in
the physical world (movement, light/temperature change, sound, touch, etc.)
through custom interfaces.

Contemplating hybrid artmaking through installation art, this course focuses
on the potential relationship between art objects/images and their context.
As a learning tool, the second floor of the Jacques Building in West Lafayette,
Indiana, has been procured as the course's working context installation site.

Envision Art 01 is an interdisciplinary class focusing on the experimentation
with both, physical objects using sensors/actuators and the aesthetics of
real-time computer graphics exploring new answers to the question: how can
digital images interact with physical objects? In collaboration with the
Envision Center for Data Perceptualization.

This course critically investigates the history of video installation and
audio sculpture and artistically explores the merging of audiovisual
content with three-dimensional form.
