Fall 2021 Movie Night

  • When: Friday, October 15 at 6:30 p.m
  • Where: KRACH, Room 230, Purdue University, West Lafayette
  • HSA ivites you to the first movie night of the year. The movie will be the Greek movie "The Christmas Tango" written by Vagelis Nassis and Giannis Xanthoulis and directed by Nikos Koutelidakis.

    Plot of the movie: At the time of the Greek junta, in an isolated army camp, a lieutenant forces a soldier to teach him the tango in order to ask the wife of his Colonel to dance with him.

2019 Movie Night

  • When: Friday, October 11 at 7:00 p.m
  • Where: Armstrong Building, Room 1109, Purdue University, West Lafayette
  • HSA ivites you to the first movie night of the year. The movie will be the Greek movie "Notias" written and directed by Tassos Boulmetis. Popcorn and soda will be available!

    Plot of the movie: In the early 1970s, with Greece under the rule of a military junta, pre-teen Stavros discovers a strange accompaniment to the awakening of eros: he subverts the meanings of classical myths, creating strange physical symptoms in those around him. Stavros' conservative parents, perplexed and flustered, take him from specialist to specialist. Diagnoses vary, until a fortune-teller deems that the boy is victim of a rare, ancient disease, which exhibits himself when he is in love. After the collapse of the junta, as Stavros meets the toils of love and politics in university, the influence of his strange affliction extends, from his immediate environment into the political arena.

2019 Callout Event

  • HSA ivites you to the annual Callout, traditionally held at the Nine Irish Brothers pub in West Lafayette. We can not wait to see you all again and meet our newcommers!

Global Fair 2019

  • When: Thursday, August 22 from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m
  • Where: Purdue Memorial Union (PMU)? Ballroom
  • HSA is participating at the Global Fair event organized by Purdue’s Office of International Students and Scholars. The event will feature cultural booths from multiple campus organizations, multicultural music, multicultural activities and challenges with prizes and finger food from around the world. Come join us to learn more about Greek culture, enjoy Greek dancing and Greek finger food as well as participate in our activities get some of our giveaways.
