Welcome to my website! I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer and Information Technology at Purdue University (West Lafayette), where I directs the SMART Lab. My current reserach interests include human-robot interaction, multi-robot systems, robotic sensor networks, with emphasis in field and service robotics and assistive technology and robotics.

From 2014 to 2015, prior to my faculty position at Purdue University, I held a postdoctoral fellow position at the Robotics Institute of Carnegie Mellon University. At CMU, I worked on the assistive robots for blind travelers project in the context of human-robot interaction, funded by the NSF/NRI. I also held a graduate research assistantship at Purdue University where I received my Ph.D. in Computer and Information Technology with a specialization in robotics in 2014. Before coming to the United States, I studied at Kyung Hee University in South Korea where in 2010 I received my M.S. degree in Electronics and Radio Engineering and in 2008 a B.S. degree in Electronics Engineering.
