How much are dues and how often do I have to pay them?

Dues are $36.00 and guarantee membership from September 1 through August 31 (one year). No partial year dues are available.

 

Where do my dues go?

$7.00 stay with PSEA, $13.00 go to Indiana State Education Association (ISEA), the remaining $16.00 go to National Education Association Student Programs (NEA).

 

Do I have to join all three associations?

Yes. You must join all three. Membership in PSEA automatically includes membership in the other associations; no additional work is required on the part of the member aside from the yearly $36 membership dues.

 

Which associations will I be a member of by joining PSEA and paying dues?

·         Represents students on the Indiana State Teachers Association (ISTA) Board of Directors, ISTA Representative Assembly, and ISTA Standing Committees

·         Offers scholarships, in conjunction with ISEA, at the annual Spring Representative Assembly

·         National Education Association Student Program

o    Provides up to $1 million in liability coverage for you in the classroom through NEA's Educators Employment Liability insurance.

o    Conducts two (2) national leadership conferences, which enhance your leadership skills and supplement your preparation

o    Circulates NEA Today and Tomorrow's Teachers, a student publication

o    Rebates $20 for every year you are a member

o    Recommends applying for C.L.A.S.S. grants for community service projects
