The "Map of Sites" (top menu bar) has several available hotels at various price ranges. In general, hotel prices are not bad in West Lafayette, but you get what you pay for. This is not a football weekend, fortunately.

Be aware of the parking rules in and around campus! Most streets between our house and campus have a strict 2-hour parking rule on weekdays. School will be in session, but the parking rules are enforced, all year.

Primary Hotel

There's not really a primary hotel. The Union Club Hotel is inside the Purdue Memorial Union, but this has been remodeled and is now rather pricey -- but NICE! This is the closest to our house and several major activities. Parking on campus is included and is right across the street in the Grant street Garage. Cost is uncertain -- call to find out.

These hotels are typically $120-170

• Hampton Inn, long walk to campus, $132 - 189, max: 4 people
• Hilton Garden Inn, long walk to campus, $152
• Four Points by Sheraton, bus ride to campus, 7-minute drive, $122 per night, max: 4 people

Discount Hotels

These hotels are typically $60-78.

• Prestige Inn, bus/car ride to campus, 7 min drive, $68-78. Kathleen is not fond of it.
• Campus Inn, walkable to campus, but typical cheap campus place $60-90, max: 4 people.

I used the Prestige Inn quite a bit while I was commuting back-and-forth to DC, ten years ago. I found it clean and quiet and the local owners are nice. Kathleen is fond of quoting the drug bust statistics from the apartment buildings next door and there actually has been a shooting....

Lafayette Hotels

These hotels are typically cheaper, but you must drive and park, as they are on the east side of Lafayette, 15 minutes away.

• La Quinta $114 per night
• Courtyard by Mariott, $127, Indy Airport shuttles drop off here, too.

AirBnB

AirBnB has a number of places from $120 - 300, for typical homes up to 5 beds. The Hills and Dales area is particulalry nice and close to all - this is professorville. One remains available for up to ten guests (6 BDRs) in Hills and Dales for $267 per night (plus fees). $1075 total for 3 nights ($60 per BDR), plus tax.

North of WV is an AirBnB for $539 for 3 nights for 3 BDRs. ($60/night/per BDR) This is walking distance to Mom's!

Getting Here....Driving

Drive to West Lafayette via I-70 West to Indianapolis, then take I-465 North and West to I-65 North. Take US 52 North to Veterans Memorial Drive West. Turn right on 231 North, Right on River Road, Left on State St, right on Grant to Purdue Memorial Union.

To get to Mom's, take I-65 N to SR 25 exit, left. Turn right on Sagamore, then right on Salisbury. WV is on the left.

Getting Here....Amtrak

Amtrak has one train norht and one train south, but not every day. Fun ride and often as cheap as $28 dollar one way. But it's to/from Union Station, downtown Chicago, and takes longer than the shuttles. But the seats are sooooo comfy!
