Announcements for August 24th, 2004: The Prequel to This Semester! |
Well, it's that time of year again. Purdue's back in
session and we're gearing up for a new year. Some of
the leadership team has been hard at work all
summer... and some of us have crammed more work into
the past three weeks. We're all hoping that this year
will be a great for everyone. (Homework and exams
aside.) General AnnouncementsCGLARP is starting up for the year!:We're trying out a formatted weekly e-mailing to keep everyone up to date on events. There will also be announcements at Mid-Week and Saturday meetings, and all of these will be posted on the website. If you or anyone you know are interested in recieving weekly emails from CGLARP, please have them send an email to cglarp@yahoo.com with their full name and email address. Survey Says:We're still waiting for some answers on the survey we sent out. Please let us know:
Upcoming Events:Not-Totally-Official Mid-Week Meeting:Come one, come all! Help us firm up rules! Discuss the new errata! See Elgin's lack of summer tan! (Hehe.)This Wednesday August 25th at 7pm. We're still working on a location, and it will be sent out shortly. Most likely we'll end up in one of the lobbies at Shreve. Also you're welcome to join us at Hillenbrand around 6pm that night for dinner, if you have a meal plan. Also included is the opportunity to help repair theclub's weaponry. We'll also cover flyers, the Activities Fair, Callout, Newbie School and the next 2 Saturdays. Activities Fair:PSUB is hosting an Activities Fair again, and we've got a booth again! This is a great chance to get our information out to students, new and not-so-new. We're looking for workers to staff the booth as well as materials to display. Set-up shift is 10am to 11am. Clean-up is 4pm on, and the actual fair runs between. Sign-up sheet available at this Weds meeting or email cglarp@yahoo.com with your available times. We also are making nifty arm/wristbands for those of you who can't work to wear around campus! Callout, if you plan it, they will come:Callout's on Wed Sept 8th this semester, running between 7 and 9 in STEW 214C. We have the room 6-10pm for set-up, cleanup and general stuff. More info later. Newbie School, established 2003:This will be held Sept 11th, the Sat after call-out. More info later. Forms & Club DutiesNew Treasurer:Unfortunately, Yen Tran was unable to be our treasurer this year. However, Liz Nichols graciously agreed to take on the position. Thanks again, Liz! New DM Staff members:We're extremely excited to add Miles Hatem and Jason Lilovich to our DMing staff for Companion's Grove LARP. Miles has also recently been approved as an armor inspector, too. Forms, forms, forms:Please remember that everyone will be expected to sign a waiver for the semester before they may engage in combat. This includes sparring with club weapons. We're also adding a few more bits of paperwork this year, but you'll get more info on those later.
