Fabian Winkler
School of Visual and Performing Arts, Purdue University
Fabian Winkler is an artist working at the intersections of the moving image, sound, spatial
structures and robotics. He explores the aesthetic potential and the cultural implications of
seemingly well-known artifacts through the use of new technologies. Conceptually, his works
are often influenced by archeological research into the history of technology and observations
of social processes. Winkler is currently an Assistant Professor of Visual and Performing Arts at Purdue University
where he developed the area of Electronic and Time-Based Art in 2006.
