Officer Duties

 

President

·         Preside at meetings

·         Compile agendas for meetings

·         Enforce any policies or procedures of the organization

·         Appoint members to committees or special organizations

·         Serve as the representative of the organization to other groups and the university

·         Represent students to the School of Education

·         Compile a report at the end of term summarizing the activities of the organization

·         Organize all training sessions including a training session for all new officers

·         Train the incoming president

 

Vice President   

·         Serve in the absence of the President

·         Assume the office of president if the president is unable to complete the term

·         Schedule facilities for Welcome Back Activity

·         Conduct initiation

·         Train the incoming Vice President

·         Chair the Tutoring Committee

                 

Vice President for Committees

 

·         Tally pledge points

·         Maintain attendance records

·         Supervise all the committee chairs and collect reports from all the chairs

·         Organize and conduct the scholarship selections

·         Compile recommendations for Pledge Merit Award, Senior Recognition Awards, and Honor Cords for graduates

·         Plans, implements, and evaluates Mock Interview

·         Train incoming Vice President for Committees

 

Vice President for Membership

 

·         Organizes personnel assignments with the president

·         Plans, implements, and evaluates all membership recruitment and callouts

·         Collects and compiles a list of eligible pledges

·         Maintains membership records

·         Reviews and revises membership application packets

·         Chairs the pledge committee

·         Plans Initiation

·         Trains the incoming Vice President for Membership

 

Treasurer

 

·         Meets with the Business Office of Student Organizations to be sure that the organization complies with University regulations.

·         Collects all dues and other income of the organization

·         Disperses all funds and be sure that bills are paid in a timely manner

·         Maintains all financial records

·         Prepares the budget for the year to the organization

·         Chairs the Fundraising Committee

·         Trains the incoming Treasurer

Secretary

·         Writes minutes of all meetings

·         Maintains a historical file of minutes

·         Writes official correspondence for the organization

·         Conducts a yearly survey of member needs and wishes

·         Communicates with ex-officio members, honoraries, alumni

·         Prepares correspondence or newsletter for actives

·         Co- chairs the Technology Newsletter Committee

·         Trains the incoming Secretary

·         Plans and implements Reading is FUNdamental Week

Historian

·         Maintains all historical records for the organization

·         Compiles materials from the current year to add to the historical files

·         Makes the KDP scrapbook

·         Maintains record of report that have been completed and reports that are due

·         Maintains KDP banners, candles, and folders

·         Photographs meetings and special events

·         Chairs the Publicity Committee

·         Trains the incoming Historian

 

Technology Coordinator

 

·         Keep track of members’ and pledges’ email addresses

·         Grade the web quiz

·         Chair the Web Page Committee

·         Co-chairs the Technology Newsletter Committee

·         Schedule facilities for meetings

·         Trains the incoming Technology Coordinator
