Afterimage- Activity 10


 

 

Objective: To observe the afterimage phenomenon.

Project's Description

In this assignment, you will observe the afterimage phenomenon for each primary and secondary colors of the RGB color Cube. By following the instructions of this exercise, your eye will spontaneously produce a complementary colored 'ghost' image of the color it has been focusing on. Follow the directions as outlined.

Experiment 1 Outline

Description:

The basis for this assignment is a black background divided by a dark gray strip with a white rectangle on each side of the strip (See figure above 1).

In the B@uhaus softCanvas recreate
figure 1. Use black (N 10) for the background and a mid gray (N 4) for the strip and white (N 10) for the rectangles. See grid structure (Figure 2).

1. Select a vivid color (R 5/10, Y5/10, G 5/10, C 5/10, B 5/10, or M 5/10)) and place it in the color scheme area (top row) of the software.

2. Drop the red color in the white rectangle on the left. Stare at the color rectangle for about 30 seconds.

3. Look at the white rectangle. What color appears? Find an equivalent color in the RGB color Palette? (Tip: Use the Bright color palette).

Drop the color you just saw underneath the vivid color (second row of the color scheme area) and write down its PN.

Procedures: Repeat the procedures listed above and find the afterimage of the colors listed below.
