- Watch: Claudia Cortes' Flash project "Color in Motion--the Movies" (you need to watch each video on the primary and complimentary colors, do not use the "Back" button during a Flash video!)
- Wednesday
- Introduce: Macromedia Fireworks with "The Picturing Quote Exercise"
- Homework
- Read: Coursepack--selection on visual rhetoric from Picturing Texts & Beyond Words
- Select: A magazine advertisement for visual analysis--you must procure an original copy of the ad
- Thursday
- Introduce: Project One, Part A: Visual Analysis of an advertisment
- Discuss: Visual Rhetoric readings, the basic C.R.A.P., in class analysis of a magazine ad
- Homework
- Read: Coursepack--Jim Corder's "Argument as Emergence, Rhetoric as Love"
- Read: Web--article "Color Meanings and Colors that Go Together " on About.com and "Color Meaning" on Color Wheel Pro.
- Due Monday: Project 1, Part A
- Conferences
- Format: 20 minutes, teams of 4
- Goal: Review visual rhetoric readings & 5 paragraph essay
