Omaha Public Power District (OPPD)

Electrical Design Engineering Co-Op: January, 2011 – August, 2011

From January through August of 2011 Michael worked for OPPD as an Electrical Design Engineering Co-Op at the Ft. Calhoun Nuclear Generating Station in Blair, NE. During his co-op, Michael was a member of the Temporary Power team during the station's refueling outage. His duties included preparing necessary information for meetings, ordering various materials, and coordinating and scheduling power requests for welders or other machines. Michael's other duties included various engineering tasks such as researching replacement items for discontinued components.

ITC Midwest

Relay Performance Intern: May, 2010 – August, 2010

During the summer of 2010, Michael worked for ITC Midwest as a Relay Performance Intern in Cedar Rapids, IA. His duties consisted of retrieving transmission line fault data from relays, using Fault Analysis and Lightning Location System (FALLS) to verify lightning-caused transmission faults, and updating substation blueprints.
