What is P.A.I.D.?

The Professional Association for Industrial Distribution (PAID) provides a forum for the association of students, faculty, former students, and people involved in the practice of Industrial Distribution. PAID was first organized at Texas A&M University in 1983 as a way for students to get involved with the faculty and industry personnel. PAID was organized at Purdue University in 1995 at the College of Technology, Knoy Hall. Each year, it organizes banquets, social events, field trips, and barbecues to provide an environment outside of the classroom to meet your professors and fellow students.

Mission Statement

The Professional Association for Industrial Distribution aims to develop the character of students pursuing a career in the practice of Industrial Distribution, refine the skills necessary for a career in Industrial Distribution, coordinate services and activities for the students in the Industrial Distribution Program, and act as a liaison between the students, faculty, and people involved in the practice of Industrial Distribution

Membership

Membership is highly encouraged and open to all Industrial Distribution related majors. A full membership in PAID provides the following privileges: Professional networking, voting, holding office, representing the society, and attending all general association functions. General meetings are held monthly. The meetings cover a wide spectrum of topics beneficial to students. We will have a number of guest speakers visiting the monthly meetings and provide input from industry. Fliers will be posted in the IT department and be announced in the various Distribution classes.
