Purdue Linguistics Symposium 2020

April 3rd-4th, 2020

The Department of Linguistics at Purdue University is holding its annual conference on linguistics called Purdue Linguistics Symposium (PLS) 2020. We invite scholars working within all theoretical and applied areas of linguistics to submit their research and join us at PLS 2020. Topics include, but are not limited to: syntax, semantics, syntax-semantics interface, phonetics, phonology, morphology, L2 acquisition, bilingualism, pragmatics, historical linguistics, sociolinguistics, sign language, and corpus linguistics.

It is with great sadness that we announce the cancellation of the 2020 Purdue Linguistics Symposium due to ongoing precautionary measures against COVID-19. The administration at Purdue University has suspended all activities involving external visitors and travel to the Purdue campus until May 2nd, which includes our symposium.

Despite the cancellation, we would like to offer a place for your research at the symposium next year, provided it is the same project that has been through our peer review process. We will be in touch in the fall as we begin preparing for the 2021 symposium to gauge interest and add your presentations to our schedule.

We also ask for your patience with our planning committee as we work to process registration fee refunds for everyone.
