Purdue Linguistics Virtual Symposium 2022

April 8th-9th, 2022


The Department of Linguistics at Purdue University is holding its annual gathering on linguistics called Purdue Linguistics Symposium (PLS) 2022. We invite scholars working within all theoretical and applied areas of linguistics to submit their research and join us at PLS 2022. Topics include, but are not limited to: syntax, semantics, syntax-semantics interface, phonetics, phonology, morphology, L2 acquisition, bilingualism, pragmatics, historical linguistics, sociolinguistics, sign language, and corpus linguistics.

Due to the travel and budgetary restrictions necessitated by COVID-19, and to ensure the safety of all participants, PLS 2022 will take place virtually. Individual presentation will be featured in both "live" (on Zoom) and on-demand formats, and plenary speakers and workshops will be featured live on Zoom.

Plenary Speakers:
April 8th: Dr. Olga Dmitrieva - Purdue University
Dr. Dmitrieva is an Associate Professor of Russian and Linguistics and the Director of Graduate Studies in Linguistics at Purdue University.

April 9th: Dr. Savithry Namboodiripad - University of Michigan
Dr. Namboodiripad is an Assistant Professor of Linguistics at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
